grilled Cheese savory bundt

I’m telling you, this here bundt is a party maker. It’s not only incredibly easy to make, so much fun to share, and admit it, there is also something about a grilled cheese in this form that is downright hilarious. You chuckled when you saw it, and that’s ok. It’s just the right amount of garlic, the perfect amount of cheese (which means it’s a bit over the top), and when you pull a slice of cheese away and get that melty “cheese pull” they’ll be talking about you for weeks.

Prep pan

Ingredients

  • 3 cans 8 (oz each) of refrigerated Pillsbury Crescent
  • 4 tablespoons of butter, softened
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon of parsley (either dried or fresh), or Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of salt
  • 18 total slices of good melting cheese (I used 6 slices of cheddar, 6 slices of mozzarella and 6 slices of provolone, but you can also use fontina or pepper Jack)

Cake Instructions

Step 1

Heat your oven to 350° Spray your bundt pan with Bundt Gunk or spray with non-stick spray.

Step 2

Remove your dough from each can trying your best to keep each intact as one log. Form them together as an unbroken ring in your bundt, pressing the ends together firmly. Your aim is for a ring with no seams in it or the structure of the bread will have weak spots when you slice it in half. Depending on the size of your bundt pan, you might not need all three rolls. I definitely prefer to stuff as much dough as I can into the bundt pan. Any crescent rolls you don’t need you can bake separately for a snack for later.

Step 3

Bake until golden brown. This usually takes 30-35 minutes.

Step 4

While your bundt is cooling, combine the softened butter, garlic and parsley.

Step 5

Let bundt pan cool for 15 minutes before flipping the bread out of the pan.

Step 6

Let the bread cool completely. This usually takes about an hour. If you rush this step, the bread will not be firm enough when you slice it in half.

Step 7

While the bread is cooling, cut each slice of cheese in half.

Step 8

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. With a serrated knife, slice your bread in half horizontally so that you have a top half and a bottom half. Put them sliced-side-up on the baking sheet.

Step 9

Brush each side with the garlic butter.

Step 10

For the slice of bread that is the most decorative (the side that baked at the bottom of the bundt pan), place your darkest cheese. If you’re using cheddar cheese, for example, it would go here). Spread them out in a ring, overlapping them. Use the two lightest cheeses on the side of the bundt that baked at the top of the pan. Alternating cheese types or doing two rings of each.

Step 11

Bake until all the cheese is melted, about ten minutes.

Step 12

Being as careful as possible, and ideally with a little help, carefully place the decorative side of the bundt onto the lower side. Press together. Slice into pieces.
